Joe Shaw for Huntington Beach City Council
A Business-Friendly City
In 2006, Huntington Beach was rated as
a "high cost" city for businesses based on taxes and fees. Our city can
do better. In this era of global competition, taxes should remain low to
foster business opportunities and create jobs. I will bring fiscal discipline
and budgetary know-how to city government and work to cut city
bureaucracy.
A Clean and Green City
A clean and green city is vital to our future.
We must do more now to protect our ocean by preventing urban runoff
and untreated waste from entering our ocean. Huntington Beach residents
deserve a clean and healthy place to live, work and play. Our open
spaces and parkland are precious resources that should be preserved for
our children.
A Safe and Secure City
As one of the safest cities in the country, we
need to maintain the quality of our first rate fire and police departments.
All residents expect public safety to be the city's highest priority.
A "Residents First" City
Residents say City Hall doesn't seem to
hear their concerns. I intend to break the cycle of frustration and listen
to the residents of Huntington Beach, eliminate red tape and stop City
Hall from disenfranchising our residents.
It's Time for a Change
I believe that each of us can make a difference. Please help me make a difference at City Hall so together we can build a better Huntington Beach.
Its time for a change at City Hall. A change for the better. On Election Day, Tuesday, November 7th, add another advocate of common sense to the City Council.
